Originally from Portmore, Jamaica; Blizzi Italian born Dejue Higgins was always surrounded by music. His lyrical word play and delivery can be compared to that of his Dancehall & Reggae influences. “My musical influences are almost of every artist in dancehall and a few from other genres ”.
While his love is for Dancehall, Blizzi Italian describes combining his patois laced lyrics with genres like Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B and Pop.
The infusion can be heard in his music and delivery. In 2021, he was featured on the viral song “Slim vs Biggs (alongside Instagram entertainer Slick Whiteline. The song showed a more melodic side to Blizzi Italian as an artist & song writer.
Imbued with a passion for music, Blizzi Italian started his musical career professionally in 2019 after overcoming trouble with the law. Committed to his goals set out for his career, his efforts were not in vain as he continues to grow his fan base.
Innately drawn to entertain, Blizzi Italian has graced stages at major events such as Atlanta Froribbean Fest, sharing the spotlight with Dancehall heavyweights like the Queen of Dancehall, Spice, and Govana. He’s also brought the vibes to Caribbean-themed events like Gyal Fest, featuring artists such as Serani, among others.
Blizzi Italian has taken his sound international, performing in countries including Belize, Rwanda, and more, as part of a global tour with Dancehall artist Demarco.
In a recent interview on Take 5 with Rico Vibes, radio personality Rico Vibes described Blizzi Italian as “quiet and humble.” Blizzi responded simply: “I let the work speak for itself.”
With the rise of Trap Dancehall, Blizzi Italian is carving out his lane his music gaining traction both locally and globally. As his fan base continues to grow, so does the momentum behind his movement.
After the local success of the release of “Outside featuring Supnelse, the fast-rising Atlanta based Dancehall artist who goes by the sobriquet has released his EP titled “AH DI DON DIS” featuring 6 banging hardcore Dancehall infused tracks produced by First Degree Music, Kapeesh Ent and Nuff a Dat Records. The EP includes features from the Hip Hop |Dancehall musical group Italianz and more.
